Real Shoes.

Hello.

I love shoes. I am obsessed with shoes. I can be very selfish when it comes to shoes. So selfish in fact, that I don't like seeing anyone else wearing the same shoes as me. I want my shoes all for myself. They are like treasures that I have hunted for, fell in love with and felt special when they found me. But the thing with shoes is, the more beautiful they are, the more likely that everyone else will have them. They become popular, and popular shoes frustrate me. They spread like a foot disease until the beautiful shoe it once began as becomes common, copied, and eventually mass produced. It no longer is the lusted treasure it once was.

But then I found these shoes by Italian label, Gianmarco Lorenzi. Gianni Renzi, the creative director at Gianmarco Lorenzi is incredible. He is a shoe genius, a treasure creator. He understands the importance of quality and craftsmanship as well as beauty. His limited edition Black Label collection is the definition of luxury, with every piece hand-crafted with Swarovski crystals and uniquely numbered.

I think I have found what I was looking for in Gianmarco Lorenzi. What is fantastic about this label is that it hasn't even infiltrated the US yet, rather, they are more of a predominant label in Russia and now China. (Two of my favourite countries fashion wise). Despite it's inevitable expansion, I find pleasure in knowing that in order to have a pair of Gianmarco Lorenzi heels I would have to go to far away lands just to find them, especially those limited edition ones that I would have to get my pretty feet into before anyone else does.

I found this fabulous quote on his company profile: "In order to be irreplaceable, one must always be different" (Coco Chanel). It made my selfish feet smile :-)
